I would happily just keep trekking back and forth across the narrow part of the UK, but friends and family are balking at that plan, so we’re thinking about/actively planning other C2C trips, specifically….
Chamonix-Chamonix. Better known as the Tour du Mont Blanc (TMB) and more accurately Les Houches-Les Houches. L2L.
Cornwall-Cornwall: Better known at the South West Coast Path. Starts in Devon and ends in Dorset, so really the D2D
Country-Country: Better known as the Pacific Crest Trail (PCT). From Mexico to Canada. M2C.
Coast-Coast, the Southern Hemisphere edition: The Te Araroa Trail (TAT) goes from the northern coast of NZ to the southern coast, across the north and south islands. So really (C2C)x2
Time frames in play:
TMB: 16 days, Summer 2017 (OK, well that was a bust…too late to book!)
D2D: 70 days, Summer 2018
PCT (California): 100 days, Spring/Summer 2019
TAT (North Island): 70 days, Fall/Winter 2019
PCT (Oregon/Washington): 100 days, Spring/Summer 2020
TAT (South Island): 70 days, Fall/Winter 2020
Exciting!!!
