Training is going OK. The header image on this post is from about a month ago, when I went on a 10 mile loop via my happy place and the pub (really, those are two different locations!) Haven’t done many hikes that long since then, because my knee is bothering me. Given that it’s several years since it’s been a problem, the timing is not great! I’m experimenting with a disgusting slurry of a drink and kinesio taping.
If those fail to help enough, I’ll just treat ibuprofen as a major component of my diet for 22 days!
In happier news, my brother will be joining us for two rather contrasting days. The first will be the shortest hike of the trip–5.5 miles from Cleator to Ennerdale Bridge. The second will be a re-enactment of the Death Hike from two years ago: 16 miles from Ennerdale Bridge to Stonethwaite, with plenty of elevation gain thrown in just for fun. The closer we get, the more I feel settled on the low route this time.
