The plan
Last day! And a long one…15 miles\804m ascent\8% average grade\4:40 hours of moderate walking ending at Sea Breezes Guest House for all of us.
The reality
We all agreed 15 miles was too long. So we caught a taxi to Rame Head and walked the remaining 8.55 miles into Plymouth. Good choice!
The chapel at Rame Head. More of a cattle shelter really…
We had two options for ferries. The first was at Kingsand\Cawsand, but this would have cut the day down to less than 4 miles and none of us were ready to stop quite yet. Except for ice cream of course!
The path felt quite different as we skirted the edge of Mount Edgcumbe Park…
First glimpse of Plymouth through the trees…
We stopped at the Orangery–a lovely setting for a bite to eat and refreshment…
Big naval ship sailing at impressive speed into Plymouth. I was glad our ferry was quite a while after this–the wake of that boat had everything else pitching horribly.
On the ferry…
Off the ferry 🙂
And to our lodgings for tea and biscuits. The next morning–our last of the trip–I made one heck of a mess of that table by over-enthusiastically plunging the french press coffee, sending a fountain of hot coffee over R, me, and the tablecloth. What a way to end!
